Applied Research, Development, Demonstration and Deployment Activities


For projects that support RDD&D of technologies related to energy efficiency and renewable energy. These include, but are not limited to: biomass projects; geothermal systems; combined heat and power, district energy systems, and waste energy recovery systems; efficient industrial equipment; and information and communications technology and standards

Various entities are eligible. Specific eligibility criteria are listed in the funding opportunity notices issued by the Department of Energy

Proposals for competitive funds are submitted by eligible entities to DOE and can represent a team of proposers. DOE selects projects to be funded and issues contracts.

It is anticipated that the first two opportunities will be modified to include ARRA funds. The reporting requirements will be modified at that time.
