Education Technology


Program Description:

Education Technology – Enhancing Education through Technology (EETT/Title II Part D). The purpose of the Title II, Part D–Enhancing Education Through Technology Program is to improve student academic achievement through the use of technology in elementary and secondary schools. A secondary purpose is to close the digital divide by increasing access to and ability to use technology on the part of students in high–need schools. Activities include teacher professional development, establishment of online networks, and creation of online courses.

New York State Total:

Estimated $ 55,549,075; in the '09–'10 budget, $28 million was appropriated for this purpose 

Entities Eligible to Apply:

Public school districts and charter schools 

Flow of Funds:

Funds awarded by formula from USDOE to SED. SED will flow to local school districts using the existing Grants Management System with 50% of the funds allocated through formula and 50% be awarded through competition as required by the EETT Legislative guideline.

Obligation Deadline:

September 30, 2011 

Reporting Requirements:

Recipients of funds must account for, and report on, how the funds are spent
